Photography is Capturing Moments in Life You Never Want to Forget
Taking a picture is a little like stealing a piece of time and stowing it away in your pocket, keeping it for later so you can look at it again, and again, and again, and not be afraid to forget what happened, or what you saw. Each photography is a memory - some beautiful, some painful, some distressing, some nostalgic - yet memories change and blur out as time goes by, whereas photographs remain the same.
That's why sometimes, I feel like photographs are lies. Intricately woven webs of lies and deceit hidden in the midst of beauty. Photographs give us the faintest hope that we can go back to the past. They formidably resurrect memories you thought you had forgotten, dredging sunken secrets and broken promises from your mind.
This is why we have to keep taking photographs. New photographs to remind us that it is time to embrace the present and look forward to the future. Not to replace the older memories, but to create new ones. Because if we keep looking back at the past, the future will remain as elusive as the pictures taken from your camera, without removing the lens cap. Photography is the past, but it is also the present, the future, and every minute that slowly ticks by.. it is the memories, the unhappiness, but also the exuberance. It is life.
